On Monday, April 22n, 2019, the Locals of the System Council met to tally the votes on an offer from Ameren Illinois to extend the current Collective Bargaining Agreements for two (2) years with a 2.5% wage increase each year. The Company’s offer is contingent on the passage of the amendment / continuation of Illinois Senate Bill 1652 from the 2011 Legislative Session. It should be noted that if the desired amendments / continuation of the legislation is not achieved, the contract extension will not be enacted.
The vote total was 515 members voting in favor of the extension with 199 opposing. This equates to over 72% of the members supporting this offer from the Company, and the Locals will now focus on assisting with legislative efforts in Springfield.
IBEW Local 702 extends its appreciation to all of the members who turned out to vote and ratify this offer.
